What these pages collect
Nothing, and this is checkable

These pages set no cookies, run no JavaScript and load nothing from any third party.
There is no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no embedded video, no web font served from another host and no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to. You can confirm this without trusting us: open the network and storage panels of your browser's developer tools on any page of this site, or read the page source, which is the whole of what was sent to you.
The content security policy served with every page states the same thing in a form a machine can enforce: no script, no style and no image may be loaded from anywhere except this site itself.
What is nevertheless recorded
Serving a web page requires receiving a request, and a request carries an IP address. Our hosting provider, named above, keeps ordinary server logs containing the IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site available and to investigate abuse.
We do not read those logs to build a profile of anyone, and we do not combine them with anything else. They are retained for as long as the provider's own retention period, which is a term of our arrangement with them rather than a choice we make page by page.
If you write to us
A message sent to the address above contains whatever you chose to put in it: at minimum your e-mail address, and usually your name. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add it to a mailing list, and there is no mailing list to add it to.
Correspondence is kept for as long as it may be needed for the matter it concerns, and for any period a law or a professional obligation requires. It is not sold, and it is not passed to anyone else except where we are required by law to do so.
Your rights
Access and correction
Under sections 18 and 22 of, and Data Protection Principle 6 in Schedule 1 to, the Ordinance you may ask whether we hold personal data about you, ask for a copy of it, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Write to the address above.
- We will answer a data access request within 40 days, as the Ordinance requires.
- We may charge a fee for complying with a data access request, and that fee will not exceed the cost of complying.
- If we refuse a request, we will say so in writing and give our reasons.
- If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.
Transfers outside Hong Kong
The hosting provider named above may serve these pages from equipment outside Hong Kong, and mail sent to us may pass through equipment outside Hong Kong. No personal data is transferred to anyone for their own purposes.
A change to this notice will be published as a new version with a new date. The United Kingdom subsidiary publishes its own notice, under the law that applies to it, on its own site.
